Hello,
I hope everyone had a great summer and are starting off to a wonderful school year. I wanted to take a minute to reintroduce myself. My name is Ami Heffelfinger and I am a Licensed Independent Psychotherapist. I have contracted with the Malcolm School District for the last 3 years providing therapeutic services. My services are available for all students throughout the school. This service is typically initiated through a parent request, referral from a classroom teacher, administrator or the request of the student themselves. Services may include something as normal as discussing a stressor they are dealing with that day, or to a child who may be dealing with extreme life changing stressors or daily mental health concerns in which we meet weekly to establish coping skills and help make school successful.
Typically I am in the school district Wednesday and half a day on Friday. Please feel free to contact me here at the school with any questions or concerns. I look forward to helping in any manner I can and am excited to see the growth as these students face a new school year.
