Thanks to the efforts of the staff and students at MPS we have
had a very successful first quarter. Our students and staff members
have “set the tone” towards having a successful school year! MPS
has seen many academic and activity accomplishments which we all
can be proud of.
To mention a few (but certainly not all):
- Round 1 of our Standardized testing revealed that a very high
percentage of our students are performing at or above grade level
in Math, Reading and Language Usage.
- Results of the September ACT test revealed that most who took it
either improved or scored well.
- 16 students in grades 7-12 have all A’s at the quarter break.
Many more students are close and could achieve a 4.0 semester
GPA.
- Over 90% of Malcolm’s 9-12 students are involved in some type of
activity at Malcolm this fall.
- 10 MHS band members qualified for Doane Honor Band.
- The fall Band / Choir concert was a success.
- Boys Cross County again qualified for State, as well as
having 1 girl individual qualifier. (The boys' team finished
in the top 10).
- MHS Volleyball won the ECNC Conference Tournament.
- MHS Football qualified for the playoffs for the 2nd straight
year.
Keep up the good work MPS! We are all proud of you!
